COSMETIC SURGERY:
Lower limbs
Liposuction
Liposuction (or lipoaspiration, or liposculpture) eliminates localized deposits of adipose tissue. Such deposits can be found on the hips, thighs, buttocks, knees and abdomen, but also on the ankles, arms and under the chin. In most cases, liposuction is not to be considered a treatment against overweight or obesity, but against the problems that persist despite diet and sport. Furthermore, liposuction is not indicated for eliminating the orange peel effect linked to so-called cellulite. Liposuction occurs with different methods (traditional, reciprocating, laser, ultrasonic...) and always involves small incisions near the deposits to be reduced, into which cannulae or probes are introduced. Depending on the amount of adipose tissue to be removed and the number of points to be treated, the operation takes place under local anesthesia (possibly with sedation), or under general anesthesia.
Thigh lift
The thigh lift (or inguino-crural lift, or inguino-crural dermolipectomy) allows the removal of excess skin and fat present in the inner thigh region. The procedure improves the inner profile of the thighs, which become more toned, and the discomfort caused by rubbing the inner surface of the limbs while walking or running is eliminated. Usually the thigh lift involves a scar placed along the medial surface of the thigh and extended to the infragluteal groove, posteriorly. In more pronounced cases, the scar follows the circumference of the thigh and is sometimes associated with a vertical incision on the inner face of the thigh, varying in length depending on the excess skin.
Calf prosthesis
Calf prosthesis is a surgical procedure aimed at improving the volume and shape of the calves through the insertion of artificial prostheses. This treatment is indicated for people who wish to increase calf volume for cosmetic reasons or to correct disproportions or congenital defects.
