COSMETIC HEAD AND NECK SURGERY

Blepharoplasty: upper, lower, complete

Bags under the eyes, wrinkles, wrinkles and excess skin: these are the blemishes that can be resolved with blepharoplasty, the operation that rejuvenates and improves the appearance of the eyelids. Depending on the case and needs, blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper eyelids only, on the lower eyelids only, or it can be complete. The operation does not eliminate the so-called crow's feet, i.e. the wrinkles at the sides of the eyes, which are only indirectly improved due to the distension of the eyelid, nor the possible lowering of the eyebrow. Upper blepharoplasty leaves a scar that is not visible to the open eye. Upper blepharoplasty can be performed with a transconjunctival (internal) incision or externally. The surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia or under local anesthesia with sedation.

Otoplasty

Otoplasty allows you to correct malformations of the auricle, the most common of which is represented by protruding ears. The correction is indicated starting from the age of 8, when the pavilion has reached complete and definitive development. Otoplasty usually takes place under local anesthesia. The dressing is left on for a few days to reduce swelling and discomfort. The stitches are removed after 7-14 days. To avoid involuntary trauma, it is recommended to wear an elastic band at night for approximately 4 weeks. Generally positioned in the back part of the auricle, the scars are actually invisible. There are no alternative methods to surgery to correct prominence or other defects in the shape and size of the auricles.

Rhinoplasty: open and closed

Rhinoplasty is the surgical procedure to correct the profile and structure of the nose as a whole: if necessary by shortening it, eliminating the “hump” or modifying the tip. In addition to aesthetic purposes, rhinoplasty is indicated to solve some breathing problems and to correct congenital or acquired alterations and trauma outcomes. The goal of the surgery is to correct defects, while trying to achieve as “natural” a result as possible. For this purpose, the nose is considered in the overall face, so as to create the most harmonious and pleasing proportions. The surgery usually takes place under general anesthesia, or under local anesthesia with sedation. Rhinoplasty is performed in two main ways: with a closed technique (incisions are made inside the nostrils so there is no visible scarring on the outside) and with an open technique (an incision is also made on the columella, the tissue that separates the two nostrils).

Face and neck lift

Cervicofacial facelift is the surgery of lifting and repositioning tissues of the face and neck performed for the purpose of reducing sagging, wrinkles and furrows caused by aging. In particular, the cervicofacial lift improves the vertical furrows between the nose and mouth and helps redefine the jawline. It can be performed alone or simultaneously with other anti-aging surgeries, such as forehead lift and blepharoplasty. Anteriorly, the scars are hidden in the hair and then continue in and behind the ear. The surgery can be done under local anesthesia with sedation or under general anesthesia.

Chin prosthesis

Additive mentoplasty involves the insertion of a prosthesis in front of the mandibular bone, to increase the projection (protrusion) of the chin and, if necessary, its width. With the same purpose, but this time modifying the bone itself, a more invasive operation is carried out, genioplasty. The incisions can be in the oral cavity (from canine to canine, intraoral approach), or externally, approximately 5mm below the natural crease present under the chin. Prosthesis implantation is usually performed under local anesthesia, while genioplasty is performed under local anesthesia with sedation.

Facial lipofilling

Facial lipofilling is a procedure that involves injecting body fat taken from other areas of the body (via liposuction) into areas of the face to increase volume, improve contour and reduce the signs of aging. This treatment is ideal for patients who desire a younger, fresher and more natural appearance without the use of synthetic fillers.

Bichectomy

Biscectomy is a cosmetic surgery aimed at reducing the size of the cheeks and improving the contour of the face through the partial or total removal of fat in the cheeks. This treatment is often sought by people who have excessively full or round cheeks and wish to achieve a slimmer, more defined facial appearance.
